As you known, the online education is the tendency for all life long
study. But the current teaching resource online MBA just are: WebCT, PDF&PPT
Courseware, FAQ, BBS or Virtual Lab, even the e-Board, the learner study
online passively.
Especially, Science Education is situated learning, so, Real-time diagram
drawing is necessary to help learner understand the essence of science.
Furthermore, every novice has preconception or misconception about the learning
scientific concept; therefore, I think the Interactive Communication is needed.
I am developing the Real-Time & Interactive Teaching and Learning
software to overcome the shortcomings of current E-learning. The features of my
software are shown as following:
1. Real-Time, every action can be seen online at the same time by the
learners in the same virtual classroom.
(a) Arbitrary Diagram can be drawn by "pen", just as the diagram drawn
by chalk on blackboard in classroom;
(b) The Diagram will be looked as an object, it can be moved to the
place wherever it should be;
(c) The Diagram can be grouped as a specific shape object, such as car,
apparatus…, also, it can be moved;
(d) The object can be "erase", "Redo", "Undo".
2. Interactive Communication amongst the Distance learning MBA in the same virtual
classroom, as if the learners were sitting together to discuss problems in the Real-
World.
It allows students to ask for help to work out his misunderstanding or reply
to others’ question.
(a) Every learner can ask question;
(b) Every learner can answer question;
3. The Teaching & Learning Resources (Library) are included. As if the
learners were sitting together to work out the homework assigned by Instructors.
(a) The Subject, such as "Physics for Scientists and Engineers" is
provided online;
(b) The learners can select the problem need to be solved for himself;
4. The Diagram drawn by recorded in RAM and HD.
(a) The latter learner can watch current diagram;
(b) The learners can review the discussion later;
5. The Management, the troublemaker can be kicked out, or the friends can
be invited.On registration, student information is entered into STAS and forwarded to SESAM,
Agresso and Multi-Case.
When students enroll, information about the enrolment is entered into STAS. This
includes information about their names, addresses, and e-mail addresses. Each
student is assigned to a Online executive mba, a class, a tutor and a payment scheme. An e-
mail is automatically issued to each student providing an individual password and
information shipment of textbooks.
STAS also forwards information to SESAM about the new students and the courses
and services they should have access to. STAS forwards account and payment
information to
Distance Learning MBA. Similarly, STAS forwards information to Multi-Case about
shipment of textbooks and other physical material.
The course content in NKI Internet based e-learning courses is delivered both as
printed materials (textbooks) and as web materials. In some courses, as the one
presented below in figure 6, all course content is delivered on the web. Whether to
study on the screen, on line or off line may be dependent on the preferences of each
individual student and/or type of course content, interactive, with links or long texts.
All course materials are presented in forms meant to be studied on the screen and in
printer friendly versions. Preferences concerning studying on the screen or on paper
have been examined in different evaluation studies.
